Possibilidades

Queridas Senhoras,

'I live in a century different from the one I was born; in a country that gave light to humanity and now is collapsing. I work in a public school that is literally falling apart, teaching new technologies to children with unemployed parents; preparing them for the future in a society who believes there is no future at all. For month after month I was trying to find a beam of hope; a challenge to distract me from misery. And, out of nowhere, came THIS: a new Community, a new light, a silent revolution. I will never find the right words to describe what I discover every day in this course. It is my second one in Coursera, and I see myself changing day by day. As if a new world has suddenly appeared in front of my eyes. It is not just the excellent teaching approach and the poems, the amazing personality of the instructor and the dedication of his associates. It is something more... It is my “window” to another universe; both challenging and optimistic. It is my inspiration; my “fairer House with the fairest of Visitors and an everlasting Roof”. THIS is where I can “dwell in Possibility”. And I am grateful to all of you for that!'

I dwell in Possibility – (466)
BY EMILY DICKINSON

I dwell in Possibility –
A fairer House than Prose –
More numerous of Windows –
Superior – for Doors –

Of Chambers as the Cedars –
Impregnable of eye –
And for an everlasting Roof
The Gambrels of the Sky –

Of Visitors – the fairest –
For Occupation – This –
The spreading wide my narrow Hands
To gather Paradise –

Beijinhos, bom fim de semana para todas,

Céu
